I feel like I just saw a real whale in the ocean...

I can't believe this! This incredible woman recycles sweaters to make her own yarn, and it's beautiful! And she is generous enough to put a complete tutorial on the web so we can do it too! I knew there had to be an affordable alternative to Walmart's stupid Red Heart!

Other than raising sheep, of course.....

I've not tried this yet, but would like to. I just haven't found a sweater that I'm crazy about. It would be fun to try, though.

Ah, but you can dye it! If it's wool or cotton, you evidently just mix up some unsweetened kool-aid powder with a little water, stick in the microwave with the yarn, and it's colorfast forever! Only natural fibers work, though....I hope I can find a white cotton sweater to try this on.
